Abstract:
Geography teaching is very importante for students to understand elements that
make up the geographic space. Currently there are several didactic resources that
can be used by teachers for the elaboration of their classes, aiming at the students'
learning. However, the textbook is one of the resources most used by teachers in the
classroom; for some teachers as the only instrument for learning in the classroom
and others, as only an auxiliary and even indispensable tool in the teaching process -
learning. In this way, our research has the general objective to identify the criteria
used by the teachers of Geography of the School EMEFM Cônego João Marques
Pereira when choosing the textbook. In this research we used as qualitative
methodology, through the bibliographical survey and the application of
questionnaires. We identified there, Geography textbook is used daily in all activities
that are worked with students by the way being one of the most used research
sources with all class.
