This study aimed to understand the contributions of school planning in practice in order to be a key tool for teachers, for school staff and the school as a whole, enabling the pedagogical actions that you want to anticipate an organized way all stages of schoolwork. Thus, the study aimed to analyze the contributions made by the school planning to improve the quality of pedagogical action developed in the classroom; Identify teachers' conceptions of planning; Understand the importance of planning in the classroom and daily life; Map forms of planning used by the teacher in the classroom. Thus, it was initially performed a literature in which it can rely on the theoretical contributions of authors like Fusari (2008); Freire (1986); Gandin (2008); Goncalves (2001); Lakatos (1991); Libaneo (1994); Luckesi (2001); Moran (2000); Moretto (2007); Moyses (2006); Novoa (1992); Padilla (2001); Piletti (2003); Schmitz (2000); Vasconcellos (1995); Veiga (2004), among others. Then an exploratory field research was conducted in a qualitative approach, with 03 (three) teachers and 01 (one) teacher, from kindergarten and elementary school, a public school in the municipality of the city of Cachoeira dos Indios - PB, so that they could better understand the importance of planning in teaching practice. The subjects participated in a conference related to the theme, expressing his views and school planning practices, highlighting their impact on classroom everyday, the challenges faced in the planning process and the search for alternatives to improve teaching practice. The results show that there are still many challenges to be overcome in relation to planning, as it was observed that educators understand that planning is essential in everyday school life, but most of the time, the school does not have adequate resources so that they can plan activities according to the students' reality, so that will have significant results in the process of teaching and learning.
