Abstract:
This work consists of the application of the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve, Control) methodology in the production process of then extruded/stained colonial roof tile, a process responsible for the production of the flagship product of the company target of the study, located in the city of Parelhas, Seridó region of Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. Initially the study aimed to characterize the company and then implement the DMAIC, composed of five stages: define, measure, analyze, improve and control. With the use of the methodology and quality tools, it was possible to determine the problem to be studied, thereon the team was able to identify the items that intensified the non-scheduled stops, enabling the prioritization of those that had greater significance. The analysis step allowed the identification of the causes of the prioritized items, making it possible to develop an action plan to reduce the detected problem; finally, the project team laid out measures that allow for the control of the results that can be achieved with the implementation of the proposed actions.
