Résumé:
This work is mainly carries out a research in newspapers to investigate different
constructions of the public image of Wilson Braga, especially along the 1982 and
1986 elections, a period where the political played two elections: the Governor and
Senator, respectively. In both elections the political quoted just a state of
consecration of his public image, with a landslide victory in 1982, a state of complete
frustration, because of the defeat in 1986, it seems as surprising in light of their
political position in Paraíba. Aims to investigate as well, as was being manufactured
Wilson Braga images in different media, such as newspapers A União, Gazeta do
Cariri, Jornal da Paraíba and Jornal da Borborema, proposing reflect on the
existence of image wars on the political scene Paraiba 1980s, where political herein
is presented from a popular acceptance profile and, sometimes described as a
political unpopular measures. Beyond these images broadcast by the media, the
survey also sought to analyze how Wilson Braga built a profile of himself with
reference to acts of possession, books produced by political as well as your current
drive on social networking sites like Facebook. To analyze this question of Wilson
manufacture in Paraiba press we as authors reference as Burke (1994), which is an
important study in the field of political history on the public image of Louis XIV, "The
Sun King", and Gomes (2004) that discusses the concept of public image today, as
well as the performances that the different political actors assume during a crucial
period in Brazilian history, which is the resumption of a democratic basis, through the
exercise of direct vote for governor in 1982. In this sense verified as political Wilson
Braga received different connotations according to each communication vehicle,
assuming a profile that goes between the idea of people's political and anti-people or
between the ideas of being a political innovative or with outdated practices. We still
see the approach of Wilson with some Paraíba newspapers, such as the Jornal da
Paraíba and Gazeta do Cariri, and the use of Canaan Project for the construction of
Wilson Braga marketing as a Northeastern politician who strives to help poorest state
population.
