This paper presents reflections on the process of social reproduction of the peasantry in the Community Baixa Grande, municipality of Cachoeira dos Indios, located in the middle region of the Hinterland Paraibano. I assume that there are continuing difficulties in the field and public policies do not always meet the real needs of their subjects. However, the inhabitants of that community remain and resist through strategies inherent in the peasantry strengthening community ties and their ways of life. For understanding our object of study used in the literature, field and documental with methodological tools such as interviews, questionnaires, oral history and content analysis with thirteen subjects, research, twelve being of which distributed and organized in four groups of three participants, each group, as with one of the subjects developed research on oral history. The age of the investigated ranged from 25 years to 92 years. Of these, three are female and 10 male. One respondent develop oral history, and every three respondents had its own characteristics: one group was developed to interview because they are illiterate, aged 82 years to 92 years, because we value the elderly on the basis of contributions that would research held, one male and two female. Besides the introduction and considerations built three items discussing peasantry, community origin and resistance strategies and stay in the Community Baixa Grande. Finally, we hope to contribute to future research on the peasantry in Upper Hinterland Paraibano, so that it can contribute to the strengthening of this way of life.
