Resumo:
The objective was to develop a simplified analysis of the economic viability of irrigated melon cultivation in saline water. The experiment was conducted in pitombeira site in Sumé city State of Paraiba. The soil is neossololitólicoeutrófico type of French / clayey. The nitrogen fertilization were performed fertilization with nitrogen, potassium and phosphorus. The provisions of irrigation lines were made every 2 meters with a length of 120 m. The nominal flow rate was 7.5 L h-1 for each meter of hose 10 mwc a working pressure. The melon was sown 10 days after fertilization. During this period there were over two irrigations with blade cumulative average of 15.3 mm. The seeds were melon halesbest Jumb. The harvest of the first fruits of melon happened 80 days after germination, lasting for 20 days. The area of influence of an irrigation line was 7.2 m2 (9.0 x 0.8 m). The applied volume per hour was 67.5 U blade with a 9.375 mm applied at 1:00 irrigation. The number of viable fruit, the local market, was 4 fruits per plant, average weight 1.2 kg. The fixed costs (CF) was R $ 7,290.20 and the cost of cultivation (Cc) was R $ 1,920.09, resulting in a total cost (Ct) of R $ 9,210.29. Adding up the value obtained R $ 3.00, obtained a gross revenue of R $ 32,400.00 net revenue was R $ 23,189.71. Melon Holesbest Jumbo obtained from 30,000 kg productivity average. The total costs of melon production was R $ 9,210.29 generating a net revenue of R $ 23,189.71. Indicating that the venture in cultivation of melon presents economic viability.
