Resumo:
This study aims to understand the struggle and resistance process of Brazilian peasants from the second half of the twentieth century. Initially, it is important to say that this work came from the Repeasantry notion. However, if there is a Repeasantry it is because there was previously another process of Dispeasantry. The history of the Peasantry in Brazil is violently marked by this Dispeasantry process to break, in turn, with the emergence of the Brazilian Peasantry as a political actor - a Peasantry process in Brazil between the 1950s and 1960s. Methodologically, this is a literature review about Peasantries in Brazil, specifically the authors and texts from the second half of the last century. Such methodological procedure which follows a linear trajectory, marking out certain break times in the story of Peasantry in Brazil, represented here by the notions of Peasantry, Dispeasantry and Repeasantry. This study presented three different results. It was ascertained about Peasantry in Brazil, specifically through the Peasant Leagues. As the Dispeasantry process occurred after the installation of the military regime in 1964, it aimed to show how the idea of agriculture modernization extinguished Peasants from national debate. Finally, it is lined up in the Repeasantry as a phenomenon that occurs simultaneously with the course of redemocratization of the country. So, at first, it appears as criticism to modernization, introducing the notion of alternative agriculture and later the Agroecology prospective. With this in a second time, it depicts the way Peasantry is linked to Agroecology, as well as, it has been resisting and struggling for an inclusive and diverse agriculture in its incessant search for rights. In sum, we can affirm that Peasantry unlike predictions, that would disappear as a social class, resisted, and by Repeasantry has been consolidating further as a social political actor of great importance in much of the world.
