Abstract:
In the Semiarid region since long time attention was focused on the supply of water in times of drought, strongly perceived as a problem of 'dry' in the region. In this scenario sequentially emerged proposals and implementation of projects of águras the São Francisco River, which dates back to imperial times. The project is currently being finalized in some states, including Paraiba, whose East Axis channels cut in the state Monteiro municipality. The families of the areas through which have passed the transposition have been settled in Productive Rural Villages (VPR), whose idea is to allocate spaces for these deem continue their agricultural activities, thus reducing the social liabilities. Monteiro in the Production Village Rural Lafayette was inaugurated on 1 December 2015, with 60 housing units. To understand the dynamics of resettled Village Lafayette, the research aimed to analyze the view of those on the Integration Project of San Francisco Waters (PISF), the conduct of agricultural production with emphasis on bean crop, as a contribution to food security and nutrition . Questionnaires were applied to 38 of 60 resettled families. The results show that most resettled (58%) are female, showing the presence of women in agriculture; 13% are not farmers and 71% of those who declared themselves farmers practice agriculture in the system is agreed. With regard to agricultural production 53% planting beans intercropped with maize and 71% do not have seed banks. The perception of the PISF and VPR 74% of respondents believe that the transposition project will be implemented and 63% say they are satisfied with the proposal from the VPR, but charge improvement, attention to government level to meet the listed promises and proposals in Project integration of the São Francisco River waters, to take effect improvements in Vila Rural Productive Lafayette.
