This research is a quantitative and qualitative character field study aimed to evaluate the performance of hick birds raised in PAIS system. This is a case study that was conducted in locus in the course of 88 days were used 80 chicks of one day old, distributed into three lineages, 50 of Caboclo lineage (CBC), 20 Tricolor lineage and 10 Pedrez lineage. The management of these birds was carried out as three phases of creation: Initial (1 to 30 days old) the chicks were housed in brooding, where food and water were freely provided, that is in confinement system; In phases Growth and Final (31 to 88 days old), the birds were housed in the PAIS unit henhouse in a semi-intensive system, in which was offered 25 kg of feed per day and freely water. After 35 days of age, they had free access to paddocks with green pastures, such as bufa grass, tifica grass, leucaena plant shading, moringa, acerola and soursop. In this experiment, the performance of selected birds was obtained through of the evaluation of daily feed consumption, weekly weight gain and weight at slaughter as well as carcass yield of birds. With this study, it is concluded that the tricolor lineage was higher than the others studied in all evaluated parameters. Based on this result, we can guide the hick chicken farmers created in the PAIS system, choose the tricolor lineage for their creation.
