Resumen:
Discrimination has taken place in a variety of ways, not choosing victims or where they happen. However, racial discrimination has corrosively affected school spaces, environments in which it is expected to build the cultural and social identity of each individual, making them critical-reflective citizens and aware of their role in shaping society. It is in the face of this racial discrimination that has occurred in the school context, bringing numerous impacts to the construction of children's identity. The present study aimed to understand the impact of racial prejudice on the construction of black child identity, aiming to create the necessary conditions to face racism and discrimination in the relational coexistence of students. The specific objectives were to identify in the current literature the impact caused to children by suffering racial discrimination in their process of formation of child identity; map the pedagogical strategies about law 10.639 / 03 in early childhood education; discuss the role of family and school in shaping the personal and social identity of children of African descent. To achieve these objectives, a field study was adopted as a methodology, conducted through the application of a semi-structured questionnaire with five teachers of early childhood education, from a school in the municipal education system of Cajazeiras-PB, in order to provide support the discussions around this theme. The results showed that the lack of teacher training, as well as their own ignorance of the ethnic issue, has hindered the work around the discussions inherent to race relations. Another factor that was also taken into consideration by the research was that the school has dealt with this issue in a fragmented way, since the subject only gets more attention when on commemorative dates, as in the case of Black Consciousness Day. Regarding the contents, there is still some discrepancy as to put such theme on the agenda, given the lack of training and non commitment of some teachers to deal with content related to the racial aspect.
