Resumo:
In Brazil, violence against women stood out in the domestic sphere and gained greater visibility in the mid-seventies through the movements and mobilizations of feminist groups. The aim of this study is to discuss public policy to combat violence against women in the city of Sumé PB, from the review of cases treated by the Reference Center Specialized in Social Assistance (CREAS) and Civil Police Station (DPC), (2013 -2014), as well as the social services offered by CREAS, for this purpose, we used as data collection instrument exploratory visits, as well as descriptive documentary research, where we obtained the concepts related to public policies, violence against women and gender. , as well as the operation of the Information and Communication Network between agencies responsible for assisting women victims of violence. Finally, we analyze the difficulties faced by CREAS regarding the lack of physical structure and adequate technology. These were some of the aspects that make up this study and the results of this research that, far from being exhausted, open parameters for a more detailed study.
