Abstract:
At this paper, we show a discussion about the following theme of ethnic-racial in Child Education, which it has like a research problem: How do the teachers intercede in the racial subjects into classrooms from the moment they notice the incidence of prejudice among kids? In order to answer this question we have some aims like: analyze women teachers’ conception regard to racial discussion in Child Education; to know what they think about this issue and its implications in educative process; to identify teaching methodologies used by teachers which take into account the challenge to deconstruct previous knowledge about racial prejudice in classrooms; and engage a conversation if pre-school offer recurrent training to teachers deal with this problem. To study this theme we brought in some authors’ ideas, for instance, Dias-2012, Duarte-2011, Ferreira – 2008, Rosenberg – 2011, Santana-2003, Silva and Sousa-2013. We also draw attention to some legislation that establishes obligation what includes the topic we are talking about. The methodology chapter is subdivided in five subtopics, it begins with qualitative approaching. As regarding people and the researched unit, we interviewed women teachers that work with four or five-year-old kids from Child Education in region on the Cajazeiras City- Paraíba. We performed a semi structured interview and we decide in favor of a content examination like an analysis technique. In face of that analysis we testify that ethnic-racial discussion does not happen how it should be. The subject just comes up when there are commemorative dates like November 20th the Black Conscious day, but there is no teacher training, only a yearly developed project created by Board of Education in urban community in order to help all schools in the county that work with every age group. The women teachers emphasize it is a daily discussion and, from the moment, some sort of prejudice occurs in the classroom there is an intervention and awareness. At least, we notice we still live in a culture where preconception had taken root and kids in general are the victims. So, it is teachers’ responsibility intervene and dialogue the topic under consideration, assisted by a recurrent training, as a result, we can, step by step, tear down the existing racism.
