The present study aims to investigate the school performance of students from the 5th year of primary education in the year 2107, in a school located in a neighborhood considered peripheral of the city of Cajazeiras-PB. The purpose of this study was to investigate the socioeconomic situation of the students 'families and to investigate the relationship between this social and family reality and the students' learning. Interviews were carried out with the families of the students to identify the social situation of the families, as well as the school performance was investigated through the data obtained by the evaluations to which the students were submitted and by interviews with the teacher. The research took as reference the works developed by Carvalho (2010), Hoffmann (2000) and Luckesi (1999) to promote the concepts of Social Vulnerability and School Performance, central to the discussion. In this process, we start from the concepts of social vulnerability and school performance developed by Carvalho (2010), Hoffmann (2000), Luckesi (1999). It was intended to investigate how the socioeconomic vulnerability of the students 'families interferes in the students' learning. Interviews were carried out with the families of the students to identify the social situation of the families, followed by the different forms used to evaluate the students studied, the evaluation methods were done by the teacher regent, education and federal government. The results of these evaluations were analyzed as well as an interview with the teacher regent who was questioned about the social condition of the students' families and how this situation affected the student's academic performance.
