Resumo:
The present undergraduate thesis was made through a survey alongside three literacy teachers from the public education system at the city of Cajazeiras-PB. We have as a research issue: How the literacy teachers develop the reading and writing teaching and what are the major problems found by the professors during this process? To answer these questions, the following goals are used: Identify the teacher’s practices aimed at students from the first grade, Elementary years, at public schools of Cajazeiras’ city; identify the tactics used to the writing and reading development in the literacy procedure; knowledge every process lived by the pupils throughout the growth and the writing and reading learning process, also identify the main obstacles found by teachers at the literacy methods. Literacy is not just teaching how to read and write, because it is necessary to respect the general ways of reading that happens even before the student grows familiar with the linguistic codes. It is analysing the drawing importance to the development of the reading skill, taken as the basis of the whole process, showing, as well, the three capacities the learning student needs to go through as a way to achieve the level of literate. Afterwards, it will be shown linguistic conceptual levels and there will be a moment to analyse the literacy teacher’s training. The data collected at the interview was divided from three main themes: The literacy teachers self learning, the essence of teaching, acquirement of the reading and writing skills, literacy professors’ perceptions and problems and essential pedagogical practices to the writing and reading learning, which were developed based on the interviewed professors, also on the authors and specialists at the mentioned matter. The study over the literacy’s development allow us to have a knowledge on fundamental aspects which involve this major stage at the kid’s life, after all, learning how to read and write is more than a school trait, is a criteria so the individuals can live socially in the literate world which we live and requires these kind of mastery all the time.
