Abstract:
The objective of this work make a characterization of production systems, type and form of food, producer profile, the property profile and determine the production of members of ACCOP (Association of goat breeders and sheep), located in the municipality of Prata -PB, all these factors were evaluated by production category. The information was obtained from forty members through a questionnaire composed of questions regarding the producer's profile, property, herd management and health and the results were analyzed according to the frequency of responses among those interviewed categories. The size of the properties area ranged from 23.8 to 135.7 ha. The uptime of these producers ranged from 5 to 8 years. Creation system adopted 97% of producers use the semi-extensive system (animals reared loose in the bush) only 3% said they adopted the intensive system (confined animal). In relation to breeds of goats in the herd prevalent this municipality are crossbred animals of producing breeds of milk, saanen, brown, alpine and toggenburg. The animal herd of producer varies 20-112 animals. The sanitary control is carried out by 100% of producers. The property data annotation is not performed by 75% of producers, only 25% said annotate any given property, are simple data such as number of animals, quantity of milk sold, pregnant time, number of males and females. And with the technical assistance 92.5% said not receive any kind of technical assistance. The use of rural credit is done by 62.5% of the producers the type of rural credit more used by these producers is the PRONAF (National Program to Strengthen Family Agriculture). Forage conservation technique used in the city predominates silage is done by 67.5% of the farmers, the crops used are corn stover, sorghum, elephant grass and pasture grass. The supplementation ingredients is made by 90% of producers, the main ingredients are soybean, corn, and wheat bran cake. The use of mineralization is carried out by producing 100% of the animals is supplied from the simple salt and others provide simple salt mixed with some minerals. The factors that most influenced the producers to invest in the production of goat's milk in city of Prata-PB were easy to create in the region, milk program and lack of alternative. The main difficulties to be a goat producer in the region, according to the producers are late payments, drought and food price. According to 99% of the farmers milk quota offered by the state government is considered low, the quota offered by the government is only 19 kg / day. Even with the difficulties encountered in the production of goat's milk in the city of Prata-PB 100% of the producers said they were happy to practice this activity.
