Resumo:
In this work, the main objective was to identify a profile of high school graduating students in Youth and Adult Education at the State School José Leite de Sousa, located in Monteiro city. This work is a case study where the data collection technique was based on questionnaires and interviews. In the survey, we sought to identify similar characteristics, that would allow to outline a profile with commonalities to a significant part of the students surveyed universe. It was also interest of this study, characterizing the youth perspective about the contributions that the Youth and Adult Education has given to them. Knowing the students how they feel as students included in this educational modality and which reasons they attribute for not have completed the Regular Education at the age considered appropriate, what kind of considerations these students have to make about school that they attend regarding the structure, teaching materials used in classes with, teachers and their teaching methods and which prospects they feed aiming to improve their social conditions, labor and financial, starting at the time that they complete their studies, and if the fact of having a diploma, in their view, will bring immediate benefits for the lives of each one. To understand the students’ perspective, we will spend a look at the reality of the school, assembling a brief profile of the teachers inserted on this stage of formation, at the School analyzed and we will make a brief history of the Youth and Adults education.
