Resumo:
In order to identify which factors influence the choice of undergraduate students, a
quantitative approach is used in this study, through the application of questionnaires among
the students of the business management course of the Federal University of Campina
Grande - UFCG. Recurring factors in the decision-making factor for course choice. The
questionnaire used was adapted from Bomtempo (2005), which presented 32 variables, the
sample was collected among students from the 1st to 4th semester of the course, resulting in
the collection of 126 valid questionnaires. The data were tabulated and analyzed using the
SPSS software with the application of the Exploratory Factor Analysis (AFE), the grouping
culminating in 5 factors of choice, being: prestige and success, professional improvement,
taste and personal identification, family influence and market of job. By means of the result of
the 5 factors, the mean and the standard deviation were calculated, in order to better
understand which variables present greater weight in the choice of the students of the course
of business management.
