Polícia militar na perspectiva democrática: democracia ou autoritarismo?

Abstract

The present work seeks to analyze the military police institution having as theoretical background contemporary democracy, the design of public security institutions in Brazil, respect and promotion of human rights as constitutional guarantee. The research uses qualitative, documental, bibliographic, exploratory analysis and the focal group technique to cross the variables of the literature studied. In this way, the research detects the presence of a fragile state from the democratic and institutional point of view.
