Resumen:
Several factors have led the planet to the current situation of globalization, therefore there was
the emergence of negative impacts on the biosphere, leading thus to the discussion of the need
for economic development linked to sustainability. The tourism sector in Brazil is a strong
mover of the economy, generating a source of income for many people, however, the tourist
activity can generate many changes in the environment, both in geography and local impacts
that are receiving a lot of people. Thus, it can be said that it is of paramount importance, the
dissemination of sustainable tourism idea, for the preservation of natural resources so that
they are also available for the generations of the future, so that companies in the tourism
sector survive in market without affecting the environment. In this perspective, the present
study aimed to create an analysis of the impacts suffered in the Marine Park “Areia
Vermelha” after the standards of environmental protection imposed by SUDEMA, the
analysis was made according to the perception of business professionals from “Turismos &
Cia” company in the city of Cabedelo - PB. In terms of methodology, the research has
quantitative and exploratory nature, being characterized as a case study. For the development
of the survey instrument, it was taken as a basis the menu developed by SUDEMA, which
regulates the art. 2 of Decree 21.263/2000, which are broken down a number of rules of
conduct to people attending the park, thus, the development of constructs which were then
answered by the company professionals of “Turismo & Cia” was possible. The study results
showed that the company's professionals agree that the company's customers feel dissatisfied
because they solicit services that cannot be offered anymore because of the standards of
environmental conduct. Another fact that drew attention was that the company's professionals
disagree with the statement that points the company as a sustainable tourism practitioner, i.e.
the company studied does not have a worried culture with the environment. Something to
stand still is that the members of the company does not believe that environmental problems
caused on the island generate a bad reputation for the company. Thus, it was observed that
there is a lack of environmental awareness on the part of the tourists who still demand for
services that are prohibited by law, another fact to be noted is that it is important for the
company to pay attention to questions of environmental protection as a positive factor for the
organization, spreading marketing in this sense.
