Resumen:
The Sense of Work and Organizational Commitment are topics of great relevance for organizations in the pursuit of the objectives. Several studies have been developed over the years on the themes in question, among them the study of the perceptions about the Sense of Work by Hackman and Oldhan (1976), Emery (1964,1976) and Trist (1978), the three dimensions of Sense Of the work of the group MOW (1987), Morin (2010) adapted by Soares (2013) in which people influence other domains outside the work environment, whether by social life, family, culture and leisure, and study on Organizational Commitment according to the works developed by the researchers Meyer and Allen (1990, 1991) where he develops conceptual approaches and techniques on these dimensions (affective, instrumental and normative). The development of this descriptive research with a quantitative approach occurred through a case study, using a questionnaire adapted from SOARES (2013) in a non-probabilistic sample, where it sought to identify the meaning and commitment in the work for the military police of the 3rd CIPM Based in the city of Boqueirão – PB. For that, the six characteristics of the Work Sense were analyzed, according to Morin (2010) adapted by SOARES (2013), attributed to the police of that unit: learning and development, autonomy, quality of relations, recognition, moral rectitude, meaning of Work itself and the social utility of work. And on the study of Organizational Commitment was used the Meyer and Allen Model (1990, 1991), related to the affective, normative and instrumental dimensions. The military officers participating in this research demonstrated greater predominance over the Affective dimension and with respect to the meaning of work, one of the largest medians were that the interviewees partially agreed that they had the opportunity to develop their skills and good relationships with co-workers, Police have partially disagreed that their salaries and career prospects are fair.
