Arborization of the prairies is extremely important in urban centers, being important for its composition, adequate planning. The objective of this study was to analyze the arborization of the squares of the municipality of Sumé in order to organize a database and a descriptive report, as a contribution to the Uranian public planning policies. The research was carried out from july to september / 2016. The trees in the town squares were studied and tree species with diameter at chest height (DBH at 1.30 m from the ground) of at least 5 cm were collected and identified. The trees, palms and shrubs were quantified in each environment and analyzed individually in a qualitative and quantitative manner, and the data were annotated in field records. In the inventory, 128 individuals were identified, distributed in 11 botanical families and 19 species, showing a satisfactory diversity. The species with the highest number of individuals were Azadirachta indica with 21 individuals (16.0%) and Ficus benjamina with 36 individuals (28.0%). The order of contribution by family by Moraceae > Meliaceae > Fabaceae. Regarding the origin, of the 19 species present in the arborization of the squares of Sumé, 67% are exotic or naturalized and 23% are native, for the total inventoried.
