Resumo:
Innovation intermediaries, ie all organizations that act directly or indirectly in the promotion or facilitation of innovation, are generally not considered in traditional systemic studies. The absence of associations of technology parks and incubators as examples of these intermediaries in academic studies draws attention, considering the significant amount of isolated studies on these and their relevant contributions in the innovation ecosystems where they are inserted. With this, it is indicated that this work aims to characterize the contribution of the Paraíba Technological Park Foundation as an innovation intermediary in the Innovation Ecosystem of Paraíba. The theoretical foundation discusses Innovation; Ecosystems, Systems and Intermediates of innovation; and, Technology Parks. This is a descriptive qualitative case study, whose data were collected, essentially, based on documentary analysis. The collected data were categorized and exposed in order to respond to the research objectives. The results discuss the characterization of the activities of the business incubator linked to the Foundation, ITCG; and describes how the Paraíba Technological Park Foundation supports the creation and development of new technologies. It was concluded that the Foundation acts in a direct and relevant way in supporting the Innovation Ecosystem of the state of Paraíba, mediating through its business units, laboratories, centers and research centers and consolidating itself as a structure capable of promoting a competitive differential to the organizations installed or associated with it.
