This paper presents the results of a study conducted in a Municipal Public Nursery in São João do Rio do Peixe - PB, with the overall objective: To analyze the importance of drawing in kindergarten for the integral development of the child and the following objectives: To investigate the contribution of design to the child in the development process and check if the teacher from kindergarten recognizes the expressions of feelings of children through his drawings. As a basic theoretical framework, we chose to support this work with the deBujes thought (2001), Fontana; Cross (1997), Oliveira (2010), Sans (2007), which discussed the role that design plays in the development of children and the teaching and learning process. The methodological tools used were: sociodemographic questionnaire and interview script, directed the nine teachers. With the results we understand that teachers have knowledge on the subject under study. The analyzes showed that the teachers are aware of the importance that the design provides the child.
