It presents reflections on how reading conceptions aimed at teaching and a relationship with the new multimodal study, having as object of analysis or gender taken, since this is very strongly inserted in textbooks of different areas of knowledge. This is a basic research, since it proposes to analyze new knowledge without practical application. From the point of view of the problem approach, constituted in a qualitative and exploratory research, as an objective, since the visa generates a greater familiarity with the proposed problem through a bibliographical research. To do so, the theoretical databases to support the reflections presented here, with theoretical support in established authors in each area of study on reading, gender and multimodality. Then, an analysis of some strips is developed, which compose as activities did not have didactic book taken as object of study, enabling an analysis on the didactic treatment given to this genre, ie, what is the objective that is proposed as activities that do Use of multisemiotic text in the textbook. The data collection occurred in only one book of the fifth year of Elementary School, due to the great incidence of the genus in the focus in phase. As analyzes, they point to the relevance of the use of the human race in reading practices, such as the texts that allow the development of the reading ability. However, it also demonstrates that not a textbook, most of the activities involving strips are directed to the teaching of normative grammar, aspect that does not offer questioning, given its importance. However, he discussed a range of significant lecture situations and there was no textbook and it was launched in actions aimed also at a development of reading and critical reflection, given its rich and multisemiotic constitution.
