Abstract:
The school is understood as an environment of socialization and sharing of knowledge, where individuals must be prepared not only for the labor market, but especially for life in society, which involves the formation of an environmental conscience, focused on the knowledge of the Nature and its environmental preservation and in the possibilities of empowerment and the promotion of active citizenship. In this scenario, the research aimed to investigate the perception of learners of a 3rd grade classroom of the Education of Young and Adults (EJA) on Environment and Solidarity Economy, as well as to analyze how teachers approach the subject. The study was conducted in a school in the municipality of Serra Branca-PB and the research instrument was the semi-structured questionnaire. It was verified that the students' understanding of the concept of the Environment is still very incipient, superficial, not consistent with what is expected regarding the preparation for the professional life and citizen action of these students. As for Solidarity Economy, the fragility in concepts and understandings is even greater. Regarding the teachers, they said that they consider it important to work on the themes mentioned above, but there is no presence of developed works in the area, as well as the way of approach, they mention the theoretical expositions, group work, internet research, seminar, video presentation And slides. It is necessary, therefore, that the school and teachers organize activities whose purpose is to provide students with a more comprehensive knowledge on the Environment and Solidarity Economy, in order to strengthen the protagonism of students and enable reflection and criticism.
