Abstract:
The technological advance, the interventions in the form of consumption and production, have generated great transformations in the field and in the city. The development model guided by the green and industrial revolution has made researchers, teachers, students and environmentalists discuss the negative impacts caused to the environment. Parallel to this, we have the rural environment that for years was seen as a place of delay, driven even by education itself, contributing even more to the rural exodus. A new education proposal, focused on sustainability has allowed the consistent mobilization of social movements. With this, the objective of this work is to analyze the sustainable education of students of the modality of education of young people and adults of the municipality of São Bentinho - PB. In this sense, a bibliographical research was carried out, after which a structured questionnaire was applied to students who have a direct or indirect link with the field. It was identified during the research the social and organizational profile, productive profile, profile of agricultural practices and profile of environmental perception. It is concluded that the level of sustainability is intermediate, that students understand the importance of the debate and the responsibility of all in the process of environmental sustainability, as well as it is necessary to reformulate the EJA curriculum with contextualized classes and practices.
