Modern conducting of business requires a profound change of mentality and attitudes. The current management should be supported by a vision of the future and governed by management processes where the full satisfaction of its customers is a result of the intrinsic quality of its products and services, and the total quality of its production processes is the key differentiator, emphasizing issues of HES - Health, Environment and Security. One of the main links between the proper functioning of an organization and customer satisfaction is called maintenance. This study aims to apply the techniques of preventive maintenance from maintenance management, inserted in gym segmentations in general. To achieve this purpose, we seek to develop a maintenance system that did not need to be sophisticated, but that provides to give a direction to the organization in relation to the management of machinery maintenance, by the fact that this is of crucial importance for student's physical activity and continuity in the production process of the company. As justification for this study, it was made a survey data obtained through a questionnaire applied at a gym in the city of Sumé - PB, thus, 106 (one hundred and six) people answered the questionnaire composed of four (04) questions, culminating with the utilization of Pareto Diagram and check sheet, such tools that showed the result obtained, which was that the gyms, in general, need to be paid greater and better attention for the maintenance of the machines, since these machines represent the flagship of gyms. Since, financially speaking, because those are high cost equipments, one cannot switch appliances frequently. Given this context, there is a ratification of the usefulness of preventive maintenance preceded by a maintenance system of the appliances, which make them essential tools for the correct running of that particular company.
