Resumo:
This study aims to investigate how the issue of gender and sexual diversity are being
worked in high school by the teachers, as well as demonstrate the relevance of the
theme of integration into the high school curriculum. Thus, there will be a brief course
in history, especially the gender term settings for some authors, as well as sexuality is
socially constructed, then attempted to analyze the relationship of gender and sexuality
in school curriculum, as social changes that have occurred over time. Considering such
changes to school should enable the development of critical thinking and reflective of
the students, as well as the denaturalization of prejudice. To this end, the work shows
how gender settings are being worked at school and what students understand about it,
therefore it was necessary to conduct interviews with school teachers, with the principal
of the institution and with the high school students. We note with interviews made that
prejudice and discrimination against homosexuals are present not only in society but
also in the school environment, having thus a need for the institution to teach subjects
related to sexuality in the classroom, to demystify this existing bias .
