Resumo:
Racial prejudice against black is present in society in different social segments in Brazil and
worldwide. In Brazil, we see the black (black and brown) as most of the population. In the
labor market, are the most undervalued and with the lowest wages, often living in poor
neighborhoods. Thus, the school of the institutions responsible for preparing students to
exercise citizenship, is historically biased. Given that the school is prejudiced and that there is
a lack of studies on this topic in the Paraiba cariri region, was the reason why it was done this
study to draw attention to racial prejudice against black within that institution. So here it is
intended to know, in view of school actors, students (as), porters, sociology teachers and
school management, whether or not the prejudice against black within the State School of
Elementary and Secondary Education Professor José Gonçalves de Queiroz, are preferred
state or mute the bias and whether the subject is being handled properly. This research is a
qualitative approach and applied the questionnaire as a tool to collect the data. In this study
which points us is the silence from students when they see the prejudice against black and,
according to the school actors, this practice is more common among students. The idea of
separately discuss the issue of race in individual disciplines in the humanities, and discuss
thoroughly in a commemorative date also appears. Therefore, the school is biased, though
good deeds have been made in the fight against prejudice, this is still not enough.
