Abstract:
This study titled "strangeness and denaturing in the teaching of sociology in cariri of Paraiba", it is a qualitative, descriptive and effective in the State Preparatory High School Innovative Integrated on Professional Education - José Leite de Souza, located in Monteiro, PB with students and high school sociology teacher. The purpose of this study is to analyze the extent to which the discipline meets its functionality as a scientific field from the promotion of estrangement and denaturing around the content covered to a greater understanding of social reality. For this, in this research, we use the methods: focus group, which is made up of high school students; observation, held from Supervised Internship I, and questionnaires, which were directed to two teachers who taught the discipline. The results obtained show that, in a limited way, the contents promote greater reflexivity around the reality of most critical and rational manner, that, when they are promoted the process of estrangement and denaturing, however, there was also the enigma that consistently yields methodological debates, and who continue to perpetuate the teaching of this discipline is that build knowledge beyond the classroom, and what more coming for teaching content, which may allow students a more comprehensive and sensitive view before the practical world and their daily reality.
