Resumen:
In a business environment characterized by competitiveness, information is the key element in
the achievement of organizational competitive advantage, since assists the managers in the
interpretation of signs and events of the environment, and development of new products and
services to market. Thus, the strategic information management is fundamental for
organizations to monitor, filter, analyze and interpret the information efficiently. The
interpretation of information produce an understanding, which being shared among the
managers, promotes knowledge essential in planning for the future, enabling organizations to
visualize market opportunities and threats. Furthermore, knowledge regarding the
interpretation provides learning and reduces environmental uncertainty and equivocality of
information, facilitating the construction of strategies and management decisions. Thus, in
theory is a model proposed by Daft e Weick (1984), which identifies the organizational
interpretation modes in firms. After these initial considerations, this study has as a general
objective to identify the mode of organizational interpretation in firms Information and
Communication Technology (ICT), allocated in Technology Incubator of Campina Grande
(ITCG). Regarding methodological procedures, was accomplished an exploratory-descriptive
study, in which the data was collected through questionnaires and interviews. Data analysis
was performed through depth analysis of the primary data. This analysis was based on the
model of organizational interpretation proposed by Daft and Weick (1984). The results permit
to point that ICT firms incubated in ITCG are framed in the undirected viewing mode, since
this method had the highest number of favorable indicators to its categorization.
