Resumo:
The present work has as its main subject, to study the Causation Attributions and the ideological values about the Work Accidents (TA) of the social actors involved in the labor process (Workers, Entrepreneurs and technicians of the organization, the Ministry of Labor and Trade Unions, as well as also union leaders). To this end, a review of the theories that try to explain the objective causes of the TA and an analysis of the spontaneous arguments offered by the actors involved in the industrial relations of various industries in the country, as answers to several questions made by Globo Repórter journalist (December / 2000), in a detailed documentary on TA produced by Globo Network in collaboration with the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare (MTPS) that year. We used the Discourse Analysis methodology and causality attributions used in the qualitative studies, PÊCHEUX (1988) and DELA COLLETA (1991). In the analysis it could be verified that the attribution of a cause to the TA is conditioned by the position that the organizational actors occupy. Thus the entrepreneurs / managers and technicians of the company tend to attribute the TA to the injured worker himself. Victims (injured workers) tend to attribute to fate or bad luck, this is the case of workers who do not participate in any kind of union activity. Those workers who are more involved in various union activities tend to attribute the TA to poor working conditions. Trade unionists and state representatives (technicians, MT inspectors) and also independent researchers tend to assign TA to corporate managers. In general, the attributions are accompanied by ideological valuations that justify the interests of the social actors. The most frequent ideological justifications on the part of the business community has been the support in the legislation in force and in God.
