Resumen:
The advent and evolution of the Globalization process have made many changes in the
business world, creating an environment of great complexity to the organizations and driving
them to break old paradigms, transferring the focus of production/profit on the administrative
process to the knowledge, which now has becoming the most precious thing to the
organizations. The creation and implantation of processes that generate, store, manage and
disseminate the knowledge represent the newest challenge to be faced by the companies. This
study has by general goal to evaluate of the Knowledge Management, from the seven
dimensions proposed by Terra (2005), on a private Education Institution, located in the city of
Campina Grande-PB. In this research, qualified as exploratory, descriptive and case study,
some instruments of data collection have been used, such as a qualitative participant
observation and a quantitative questionnaire applied along the directors, coordinators and
teachers from the Education Institution, aiming to identify how is strategy and high
management, organizational culture, organizational structure, human resources management,
informational systems, analysis of results and learning with the environment influence the
generation of knowledge within the IE. With the collected data it was possible to conclude
that the studied institution is at a good level regarding its knowledge management, showing
good results in all dimensions. Its highlight is regarding the dimension of informational
systems, in aspects related to organizational culture and some human resource practices.
Although, it lacks on the following points: the way of checking the remuneration, inaction of
temporary teams dedicated to creating new projects as well as the non-use of informal
environments as a mean to exchange relevant ideas.
