Abstract:
Several factors have influenced, over time, directly and indirectly productive sector,
generating fierce competitive environment that drive organizations to make attitudes more
competitive, including modifying their ways of management. At this the Theory of Constraint
- Theory of Constraints or TOC is presented as an alternative to optimization of production
processes, contributing to the competitiveness of organizations before the market
performance, especially when dealing with manufacturing companies. Given the national
scene, Paraíba presents itself as the third largest producer of footwear in the country, as the
city of Campina Grande, in particular, highlighted that class as a major producer of footwear
in the state. Included in this scene shows the group Kenner, represented by its factory Tess,
this is responsible for producing 80% of the entire portfolio of shoes sold by Kenner group.
Due to the importance it represents for Tess of the same activities, there is a concern to
improve the management of your production system seeking to improve the flow of their
processes. Therefore, the purpose of this study focuses on identifying the main constraints of
the production system Tess of the Theory of Constraints. Regarding the methodology used,
we conducted an exploratory research, descriptive and qualitative, consisting of a literature
review on the subject in question and a case study. The results showed that deployment of
OCD to identify and solve or minimize the constraints arising from production bottlenecks.
Thus, it is proved by this, that the industry should review and may adopt the principles of
TOC to manage resources restrictive in order to improve the performance of the plant.
