Abstract:
Nowadays, environmental issues are increasingly in evidence in the business context. Preserve the environment, is now part of the strategy of many companies. Thus emerged the environmental management in companies, from changes in consumer behavior towards the great diversity of products and services offered by the market. Thus, this research aims to analyze the management of solid waste generated by the activities of a midsize supermarket located in Inga-PB in the light of reverse logistics. The methodology used was a case study from a qualitative / descriptive applied research in the supermarket "MultiBom". As for the results achieved, the main waste generated by the operation of the supermarket business are: plastic, cardboard and food remnants, classified as fruits, vegetables, and parts of the meat unfit for marketing. However, it was found that the company uses various channels reverse in order to properly allocate each of these residues so that they do not incorporate the inadequate allocation and manage impact on the environment. Thus, it was noted that the reuse of packaging, partnerships signed from the waste of donation and economic gain from the sale of cardboard and plastic, contribute to reducing the impact on the environment. Therefore, it was also concluded that the company researched manages the waste generated from their activities, reducing the volume of inappropriate discharges on the environment.
