Resumo:
The monograph entitled "New areas of teacher's performance: the Hospital Pedagogy in focus" consisted of an investigation of new areas of teacher's role in non-formal settings. The study had as an objective to know the work that the teacher develops in the hospital. I understand the Hospital Pedagogy as a non-formal educational system, which seeks to provide children and adolescents hospitalized for further study, for their social reintegration to the school environment and society. The research was carried out based on the principles of qualitative and literature which used as sources books and articles, and also queries the web sites. Also, we went to work to know the work of the pedagogue in locus, which occurred through a technical visit a Hospital Unit of Fortaleza - CE. This study showed that the Hospital Pedagogy supports the sick in their learning process, ensuring the right to education and inclusion. It also showed that the hospital Educator contributes significantly with family and with all the health team for the full recovery of the subject hospitalized, helping them in self-knowledge of their disease, raising their self-esteem and overcoming its limitations. The study concluded that the educator to be part of the hospital team helps in the rehabilitation of patients, helping them to relearn how to live despite its limitations, effectively fulfilling the philosophy of Hospital Unit searched, where rehabilitation is to return life to the patient.
