Abstract:
The present study has as its theme the adoption of sustainable practices in the organizational environment of municipal governance. Configuring it as a case study on environmental management and sustainable development in the Municipality of Sumé the direct administration. The overall objective is to analyze the sustainable practices adopted by the municipal public administration. The following research is characterized by the descriptive, qualitative and also had the use of library research, through a case study, with the application of a questionnaire to municipal clerks. As a result is that environmental management and sustainable development are still only beginning to develop, they still need to raise awareness among governments and people for these sustainable practices are adopted, aimed at improving the environment and the population. Therefore, it is concluded that it is through public management and more efficient public policies that will have more chances of getting changes and transformations.
