Resumo:
The research groups of public and democratic budget does not have much academic visibility, which causes deficiency in the training of public managers. The aim of this study was to analyze the impact of student participation in the research project on participatory budgeting in their training as Public Manager. And as specific objectives of this work we have: contextualizing the public budget in Brazil; theoretically discuss issues public transparency, social control and democracy, explain to the students' experience as members of the "Research Project on Participatory Budgeting" the Sumé Campus (CDSA) UFCG and the relevance of the topic as a tool for democratic management and talk about the most different challenges of contemporary public management. This work was classified as exploratory descriptive and qualitative evidenced by a case study. As for research type treated is a bibliographical and documentary study, in addition to gathering studies in specialized magazines and journals on this topic. Thus, it was found that everyone involved in the project hope that the results are achieved in relation to participatory management in the country, with more debate on public spending and transparency of resources. It also suggested that the public management uses the principles of legality, impersonality, morality, publicity and efficiency that make up the public administration in their practices, and adopt budgets and participatory practices. it was emphasized that research groups like our study should permeate the entire formation of the future public manager in achieving social and dialogued practices with the population.
