Abstract:
The organizational commitment is one of the most studied topics in recent decades in order to understand the employee's relationship with the organization to which it belongs. This study aims at analyzing how is characterized the organizational commitment of teachers from a Franchised Language School in Campina Grande - PB, according to the Organizational Commitment Basis Scale (OCBS) validated by Medeiros (2003), which explores seven bases: affective, obligation to remain, the performance obligation, affiliative, lack of opportunities and rewards and consistent activity line and lack of alternatives. The research is characterized as quantitative, exploratory and descriptive, and the questionnaire proposed by Bastos et al. (2008) was used as a tool for data collection. According to the achieved data, it was observed that teachers of the franchised language school have low organizational commitment since only two bases reached the level of ideal commitment to an organization, namely: the foundations obligation for performance and scarcity alternatives while the other bases reached with unfavourable results for the organization, namely: affective, obligation to remain, affiliative, lack of rewards and opportunities and consistent line activities bases. Given that findings must not be generalized to other franchised language schools and have no fear of the exhaustion, since it is comprehensive, it is suggested to carry out new studies.
