Résumé:
Television first arrived in Brazil in the 1950s and in 1956 the country had approximately
1.5 million devices. Currently televisions are the most common devices, present in
millions of Brazilians’ homes, which lead Brazilian people to spend an average of 4-6
hours a day following television programming. Our research aims to understand how
television programming, which became one of the most democratic technological
resources, is being used by schools, especially by history teachers. Therefore, we intend
to address the issue related to the television contribution and its learning resources in
history classes in order to reflect about the contribution it brings to the educational
process, regarding the teacher’s formation as a facilitator and coordinator of teaching and
learning and, consequently, with a best student achievement. The study will be conducted
through literature research and also through the analysis of the questionnaires applied for
teachers and students of the 3rd year of high school in the town of São José de Piranhas.
