Abstract:
Since the earliest times of history, the Northeast region through severe periods of drought and this century, since the end of the year 2011, the region has had the lowest precipitation of rain the past fifty years, a fact that has triggered a series of problems in the economic, political and social context, and once again has brought the plight of animals and the migration of the rural. This monograph, work aims therefore present government actions to combat drought in the Northeast and will be divided into three parts viz. The first present a historical survey of droughts that have caused major impacts on a path that goes from the sixteenth century to the present times. Secondly will pick-up point actions to combat drought promoted by the state through the plumbing work and economic intervention. In a third and last step a synthesis of the current drought and the prospect of sustainable development in semiarid will be presented. Thus, the current study is an exploratory study with a qualitative approach and library stamp consisting of the relevance of knowledge about the local area and the importance of spreading the theme "dry" in sociological approaches in basic education.
