Resumen:
Against the impacts caused by environmental degradation, companies seek to adopt more efficient production processes without causing major environmental damage. The building construction sector has a role of great importance for the country's development, but it provides a higher rate of impacts in sustainability of the cities. Thus, this study proposes a set of indicators of sustainable for to the Construction building sector in the Municipality of Campina Grande-PB, from Martins (2012). The methodology is characterized as an exploratory, descriptive and quantitative study, the data were collected through a set of indicators defined based on Martins (2012) to suit the objectives of urban sustainability, as well as in the literature of Sustainable Building, in which they were enframed in four dimensions appropriate to the sector of building construction. To this end, through direct observation and a questionnaire were interviewed Engineers and Architects, they attributed notes to represent the relevance of the indicators from the perspective of companies in the sector. On the analyzed results we could verify that the building construction sector in Campina Grande-PB has shown, in a very relevant way, how important the knowledge about sustainable construction in the sector is. It is still possible observe that it is incorporating these aspects seeking to minimize the environmental and social impacts caused during construction. The sector has a better adaptation to changes, combining new technology to an economically sustainable environment, contributing even more to the development of the municipality. It can also emphasize that the Social Dimension showed the best result, while the Urban Dimension received the lowest evaluation. Showing that there are isolated actions that need improvement for the sector.
