Resumo:
The commitment corresponds to the link established by the individual by identifying, dedication, compromise and strong positive feeling or loyalty to your career / job / organization. This theme can be analyzed in almost all organizations and can be investigated from different perspectives, focusing on various social objects. With the aim of analyzing the organizational commitment of professors of public institutions, this research was conducted, which had as theoretical concepts based on commitment, especially when organizational commitment was made. Methodologically, it was opted for a descriptive research, and as a technique for data collection, questionnaires were applied with open and closed questions, based on the Scale Bases of Organizational Commitment (EBACO), which was developed and validated by Medeiros (2003) with the aim of measuring the construct and its indicators in the Brazilian context. The data analysis was quantitative and qualitative. According to the results, it was found that teachers in public institutions surveyed are compromised and are at the same level in all bases, with no significant differences between the institutions.
