Resumo:
The ergonomics searchs to adapt the context of the environment of work to the man, aiming at
with this to propitiate better physical and psychological conditions for the accomplishment of
its work and activities to it. The educational sector is an area where the ergonomic
contributions can contribute for the improvement of the process and allow the increase of the
pertaining to school productivity and the satisfaction of the main involved actors in this
activity: professors and pupils. In the environment of classroom, the illumination is decisive
factor. The iluminamento level influences in the perception, the income and the visual fatigue
of the users. With this one searched to make a illumination techniques study of the classrooms
of the course of Management of the UFCG. The study it was of the exploration type, with
quali-quantitative boarding. As instruments of collection of data they had been used:
comments “in-I lease”, measurements made with light intensity meter digital D401025 (mark
DAVIS), trena and digital photographic machine (Olympus mark D-390 model). For analysis
of the data, the method of lúmens and recommended for the NBR 5413/1992 and NBR
5382/1985 had been used. It was possible is evidenced that the searched rooms present, in its
totality, some type of disconformity or situation that lacks of corrections. The problems turn,
basically, on: light bulbs with bad functioning or forest fires; differences of enter the types of
light bulbs; existence of shade points; amount of superior light bulbs to the necessary one with
consequent increase in the energy consumption. The rooms, during the night, present inferior
averages of at least equal iluminance or to the established one for NBR 5413. As
recommendations, I suggested alteration in the amount of light bulbs, what it could offer a
reduction of about 20% in the consumption of electric energy. So that this economy in fact
was reached, other factors would have that to be taken and consideration. Among them we
can detach: change in the layout of the position of the lights; alteration in the colors of the
environment, opting to colors that favor the iluminance; e regular cleanness of the light bulbs
and lights. This research allowed to observe the great importance of the application of the
ergonomics and the illumination in the environment of classroom, being, clearer the
consequences of these, in the educational performance and the way as it intervenes with the

health of the users. Based in this, one expects that the variable treated in this work are thought
and seen for responsible by the education as a possibility of improvement about the quality of
education without for this it is necessary to expend great investments in view of the benefits
that will be conquered. It can be concluded that the application of ergonomic principles is
possible and that it will result in benefits that will become the act to learn and to teach more
pleasant, satisfactory and efficient.
