This research intends to analyze the work conditions in the Delegacia da Receita Federal of Campina Grande, seeking to answer the following question: Can the basic conditions of work in Delegacia da Receita Federal contribute to the offences to their employees' health? For that it was performed a study about Ergonomics, Antropometrics and its relationship to the work environment; the seating posture and the consequences that this can bring to the individual's health. The research was developed with the employees that work in a direct way with the computer. The sample of the study corresponded to 30% of the population, totaling 14 subjects. The date was colleted in March of 2007. It stands out among the found results the pain incidence in 67% of the sample, being more prevalent among female. The affected places for the most pointed pains for the employees were: the head, the neck, the shoulders and the lumbar region. The variable "pain" showed significant association with "posture adopted at the workstation", "position of sleeping" and “knowledge lack concerning the possibility of tuning of the furniture", being confirmed by the quantitative results that it show the furniture inadequacy versus employees biotypes. The pain in the area of the neck showed association with the head's excessive movement, generated by the inadequate height of the screen of the monitor. While the lumbar pain showed to exists relationship with the posture tilted forward and back adopted, overloading the musculature in subject. These results support concluding that the preliminary pains and factors referred by employees consist on a multi causal net.
