Résumé:
The work aimed at to evaluate the composition and dynamics of the bank of seeds in the
soil in ciliary area of Caatinga, subsidizing the establishment of mechanisms that define
the conservation strategies and recovery of the half degraded in the semiarid paraibano.
The survey was carried along the stream of Umburana. For the study of the bank of
seeds 51 soil samples were collected. The bank of seeds in the soil in the riverine area of
the stream of Umburana was represented by 105 species belonging to 45 genuses and 25
botanical families, besides 28 seedling. The predominant component was the
herbaceous, which was followed by the arboreal, shrub and for the lianes. The families
more characteristics of the bank of seeds in the soil were followed Euphorbiaceae for
Fabaceae, Malvaceae and Poaceae and still Convolvulaceae. Analyzing the most
representative species particularly, the more numerous five were verified they were
Euphobiaceae 3 (1,275 seedling), Commelina sp. (712 seedling), Sida cordifolia (435
seedling), Blainvillea rhomboidea (348 seedling) and Poaceae 1 (269 seedling). These
species represented 53,5% of the individuals' total registered.
