Resumen:
The new socio-economic challenges arising from globalization over the last few years have brought new scenarios in the labor market. Thus, to adapt to these new challenges, organizations must also pay attention to quality of working life and wellbeing of its employees. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between health and quality of working life of professionals in the IT area of the city of Campina Grande / PB. This research was exploratory and descriptive, and classified as field research and telematic. To obtain the data we used a questionnaire developed by Constantino (2007), called AQV-BPS (Quality of Life Assessment - biopsychosocial concept). In addition to the electronic questionnaire, questions were added open in order to get answers regarding the organization of work, working conditions, health and satisfaction of workers in the organizations they work for. Therefore, analysis was made of quantitative and qualitative manner. The results showed that most respondents considered that has a good quality of life, taking into account the biopsychosocial variables. Also, in general, respondents are satisfied with the work, they did not have illnesses resulting from work and have a good quality of life at work, with some exceptions that make them unhappy, as incompatible wages and lack of recognition of the organization. Thus, we emphasize the importance of appropriate practices involving QVT. These practices can influence positively, providing an improvement in working conditions, increased employee satisfaction, health and well-being, etc. It is proposed that companies seek to put into practice QWL programs that benefit its employees.
