Resumen:
The constant search for competitiveness and survival in the market, besides the accelerated
pace of change requires of the organizations a creative and dynamic profile. To achieve these
requirements, companies find on innovation solution to fulfill the new demands and stand out
in front of your competitors. However, more and more business activities are being pressured
to adopt methods that promote sustainable development. For this appears as an alternative the
adoption of business models that promote business sustainability, able to meet the purely
economic objectives, but also issues related to the environment and society. In this
perspective, this study aims to analyze the contributions arising from the adoption of
innovations to sustainability oriented organizational performance company of the industrial
sector in the city of Campina Grande - PB from the application of the proposed by Kummer
(2013) model. For this purpose, was used the research model developed by Kummer (2013)
that analyzes this relation from the constructs GSIA (Guidance for sustainability in innovation
activities) and SOP (sustainable organizational performance). In methodological terms the
research is characterized as quantitative, exploratory-descriptive and conducted in the form of
a case study nature. The data provided by the study were treated by basic parameters of
descriptive statistics. The research results demonstrate that the company develops its
innovation activities guided by the principles of sustainability, as well as a partial relationship
between innovation activities oriented towards sustainability and the company's performance
in the economic, environmental and social sphere. Thus, we must consider the need to
incorporate strategies and practices that promote business sustainability, especially in the
environmental and social dimensions that were less favored.
