Resumen:
Concern for the environment has become one of the most influential factors in the current business scenario marked by constant and rapid change . Thus , companies have sought to adapt before this new highly competitive scenarios and are implementing changes in their management models and paradigms aimed at sustainable development . With this new perspective on the business environment , it is essential to apply indicators of corporate sustainability in organizations where this tool of analysis and monitoring will enable the identification of actions and performance improvements with regard to sustainability . In this perspective , the objective of this study is to assess the sustainability of the enterprise Agro Industrial Lira , producer of cachaça Serra Preta located in New Alagoa -PB . The method used in the study was classified as a descriptive case study . The instrument used for data collection was the interview held with the owner of the company , using a form adapted and based on the booklet Ethos Institute has as its theme : Ethos Indicators for Sustainable and Responsible Business . These indicators are based on four dimensions : Vision and Strategy , Governance and Management , Social and Environmental . The processing and analysis of data were performed in a qualitative manner . In general, the main results from the analysis of the dimensions were the company presents aspects that demonstrate their concern for sustainability , which was could be evidenced in the rum production process , where all waste is reused in the production itself , or reused in other activities . The main conclusion of this work relates to the importance of the application of sustainability indicators in organizations , which allows us to obtain information of the current reality of the company , assisting in the identification of the actions and measures undertaken to contribute to sustainable development.
