Resumen:
Given the growing concern about the environmental impacts generated by humans with food production and also of wealth, the idea of how to generate and produce without so much aggression is gaining many supporters. So sustainability has become a point to be reached in order to produce food and wealth without causing major changes in the environment and respecting the carrying capacity of natural resources in each region. Agriculture is the oldest form of producing food and historically is one way that generates more changes in ecosystems, and through it, this work aims to verify the application of sustainability principles to family farming method proposed by MESMIS. This study is characterized as descriptive conducted in the form of case study, using techniques such as field research. Data collection was made from semi-structured questionnaires, some of the data was treated qualitatively and while others were tabulated in spreadsheets, Microsoft Excel 2013, which allowed the creation of graphics for best viewing results. Faced with the application of the principles became apparent that alternative agroecosystems studied they approach the level of sustainability.
